Ryan Helus Headed for State Golf in KC! Team takes 5th.

Wamego is sending a teammate to state in Kansas City next week!  He brought in an 80, which placed him in first amongst non-qualifying teams' players.  He placed tied for 9th overall.  Holton and Abilene qualified for state by placing 1st and 2nd respectively, while the Raiders took 5th.  Dane Stewart brought in a 1st round 39, but the competition was too stiff and his 85 was 3 strokes from qualifying for state.  He went for the hole on 18 to get a birdie from off the green, but in rolled past.   Taking the risk did cost him a double bogey on the par 3 18th, but not a medal."It was worth it." Dane said, "I wouldn't have wanted to get a par and miss the cut." Other scores:  Austin Waters 94, Mason Stewart 101, Vance Lacey 101, and Nick Webb 110.  We'll keep you all posted on how state looks to be for Ryan.  It will be located at Dubb's Dread Golf course in Kansas City.  You can go to KHSAA.com and look up state golf for 4A.
